Tuesday, May 15, 2012 will be the last Banked Early Dismissal Day.

Starting on Tuesday, May 22, 2012, students will be dismissed at 2:19 pm.

The Fun Friday Theme for Friday May 18,2012 is Twin Day.

Join us for our Spring Movie Night on May 25, 2012 at 5:30 p.m. We will be watching a movie out on the yard. Our Parent Teacher Group will have a food sale to support our students. Don't miss out on all the fun!

Box Tops for Education

Please continue to support our school efforts by participating in Box Tops for Education!

You can find the Box Tops coupons from many products including Pillsbury, Juicy Juice, Hefty, Cheerios, Ziploc, Huggies, Betty, Crocker, Kleenex, and more.
Turn in your Box Tops coupons in the Parent Center or in the Main Office.
Lankershim will redeem the coupons and twice a year Box Tops will send a check to our school.

STUDENT ATTENDANCE COUNTS!

School attendance is important to student achievement. Students who develop patterns of good attendance are more likely to be successful academically and socially. When students attend school, they get better grades, score better on standardized tests and are more likely to go to college.

Lankershim's Teacher and Student Attendance

Goal is 97% or better!

During the month of March, only 70% of our students reached the attendance goal.

Lets keep working together towards our 97% attendance goal.

We have been motivating, promoting, and preparing our students for the upcoming CST & CMA state tests, which will take place starting from May 7 through May 18.

Students who were awarded medallions, pins, and trophies have been encouraged to celebrate their past achievements and remember this year's CST/CMA goals.

Students will have the opportunity to earn raffle tickets for a special CST Raffle on Fridays if they can answer questions regarding the CST/CMA.

Encourage your child to know the school's API goal for 2012, know their CST/CMA scores in ELA and Math for last year, know their CST/CMA goals for 2012, and know how they will improve their scores.

We will be having our monthly SSC meeting in the Lankershim Library on Thursday, May 17, 2012 starting at 2:30 P.M.

School will be closed on Monday, May 28,2012. Classes resume on Tuesday, May 29, 2012.

HEAVY MEDAL DAYS

Students in grades 3-5 will wear their medals to school to show their school spirit on Monday and Tuesday, May 7^th and May 8^th.

Students who have perfect attendance during the entire testing window (May 7-May 18) will receive a "Perfect Attendance Lunch Ticket". This ticket will provide the students with a special lunch.
